How does David Tennant manage to steal the s how in absolutely everything he’s in?
![]() 06/02/2019 at 22:59 |

He’s a death eater; I don’t think he’s morally above theft.

Does this mean Good Omens is good? Please let it be good.

Because some men simply show up for a paycheque, others show up with a genuine passion.

It's really good.

It good. It real good.

and he drives a Bentley, (or his character does - and for all the right reasons)

I guess because he’s fucking awesome?

I’ve only seen the first episode and I can tell I like it a lot.

I thought I would have a hard time seeing him as anything other than the Doctor.
Then I saw him play Killgrave and it blew me away.
Hopefully I get the time to start Good Omens soon cause it looks so damn good.

It’s VERY VERY good.

Credit to Michael Sheen - he was equally good. There were a few moments where I thought Tennant was a bit doctory.
But you’re burying the lead. Best casting by far is the Reliant Robin.

He was excellent as Killgrave, probably the only Marvel villain I can name simply because of his performance.

Hmm. I guess the question now is should I reread the book first or get started on the show...

I watched all six episodes back to back the other night.
It was very good, some subtle jokes, some obvious jokes, some innuendos, twists, etc...
I've not read the book but the series is great.

David Tennant is in quite a few TV shows here in the U.K. and while it's hard not to see him as the Doctor, the characters he plays take over.

And the Morris Minor, licence plate, SIDRAT. Tardis.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 00:36 |

And the passion he has for it in episode six.

I’ve only heard good things

Well, I’ll definitely be giving it a watch with all this praise. The book is great, but it’s odd in a way that only Neil Gaiman books can be. I haven’t seen any of his series’ yet so I can’t say if that oddness carries over or not
![]() 06/03/2019 at 00:58 |

Guess I'm starting it this week!
![]() 06/03/2019 at 01:03 |

Oh I missed that. The Bentley was “curtains” backwards.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 01:35 |

Ye’, I caught that one, only after I caught the Morris Minor as I couldn’t quite make out what the Bentley said as it was often obscured behind the large metal bumper.

Just had a look. He was:
Alec Hardy in Broadchurch (the U.S. version, Gracepoint, with David as the lead got cancelled for a second series back in 2015).
Walt in Camping,
Kilgrave in Marvels Jessica Jones,
Cale Erendreich in Bad Samaritan,
In a British comedy drama called ‘There She Goes’. He plays the father of a disabled child. The TV series was written as a sitcom on what it was like to raise a mentally disabled child.

I didn’t reread the book first, and I think it may be better that way...things they had to change or skip won’t be so fresh in your mind so you can just enjoy the show.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 06:17 |

He over acts.

I saw episode one and really enjoyed it. David Tennant is my favorite Doctor so I had to see it.

Eh, nothing against Sheen but I hate that character type and he always seems to get cast as it. You know, the meek, spineless guy stumbling over his own words.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 09:09 |
|
Did you catch the soldier reading the Neil Gaiman book?
![]() 06/03/2019 at 09:13 |
|
Don’t reread the book, there’s always differences between a show and book. Y ou don’t wanna unintentionally keep yourself from enjoying the show by refreshing your memory of the book.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 09:15 |
|
Have you watched Broadchurch? He definitely hasn't been Aniston'd by his time as the Doctor.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 09:19 |

I haven’t seen Broadchurch. I would say I should, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with new shows.

I thought it was good-ish.
Negatives: The CG was awful, the kids were kinda so-so, a lot of the acting other than the main pair was kinda so-so
Positives: Sheen and Tenna
nt have incredible acting chemistry and every moment spent with either of their characters is joyous. Most of the show is those two characters. Also,
John Hamm continues to be one of the funniest straight men in Hollywood
.
I’m going with overall a 7/10. Not the best thing i’ve ever seen, but i mean, hey i binged the entire thing in 2 days so i can’t say i didn’t have a great time.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 12:38 |

No I didn’t. Though until just the other day, I had never heard of Neil Caiman.
I've still not looked him up.

Classic typecasting.
![]() 06/03/2019 at 14:10 |

Oh. Neil Gaiman co-wrote the story Good Omens is based on, and as a nod they had a character reading one of his books
![]() 06/03/2019 at 14:15 |
|
Like, how am I supposed to root for a character who can’t even successfully communicate important information and can’t stand his ground when someone interrupts
![]() 06/04/2019 at 22:02 |
|
Oh, man, you’re in for a world of new experiences if you start reading his works. Fantastic writer, has done some interesting things in the comic book world as well.
His book American Gods gets a lot of attention, but I think it’s far surpassed by its sequel (of sorts) , Anansi Boys .

I’m not all that into books anymore.
I used to read books a lot, mostly scientific, etc... ones but I get most if not all my stuff from the Internet now.

I tend to repeat the books I’ve fallen in love with, but occasionally something new enters the playlist.
